Bio
One Last Stand, are a group of musicians, turned friends, turned band mates. The current lineup includes John Atkins (Frontman/songwriter/rhythm guitarist ), Rob Hebert (bass guitar/backing vocals), Josiah Wendt (lead guitar/lead vocals/harmony vocals), and Dylan Daigle (drums) . The journey began in March of 2023, when following the passing of John Atkins’ father on November 16, 2022 ultimately led to the disbandment of the previous band that Rob, John, and Dylan, were members of prior to 2023. Still reeling from the passing of his father Joseph Bourgeois, the musical future of the three former band mates seemed at best, uncertain. Prior to the passing of his father, John had three single releases which were released under the name Tazz Bourgeois, (Without You, She’s My Everything, and Little Things) the latter of which was written in honor of his father. While there was some air play for the song Without You, there wasn’t much promotion for it, and it’s popularity quickly faded. Then following its decline John wrote a song about his pride in his home state Louisiana, simply called Home Town Louisiana. The song entails some of the state’s culture and favorite pastimes, such as crawfish boils, Mardi Gras, and rooting for their favorite athletic teams, such as the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tiger’s. The popularity of the song grew and it’s now playing on radio stations across the state and country!
Then in March of 2023, John received a call that there was a young lead guitarist that was Dylan’s longtime, childhood friend and former band mate as well, that John should meet and jam with. At first the idea was shrugged off by John, but he eventually agreed. The young man introduced himself as Josiah Wendt, and after speaking to each other for a bit, the band decided to run through the previously used set list, which included several original songs as well as some well known covers. The very first song that was played, was the original song Without You, which has a very distinct intro lead, that Jo played as if he’d written it himself. Then when the song got to the lead solo, the same thing happened, he played it verbatim, never missing a single note. From that moment onward, they became One Last Stand! Since that time the band has produced several new original songs that are performed at their live performances, and the love and support of those originals continues to grow to date. Most of the original music is written from John’s personal experience and life views. The band’s ability to produce relatable, heartfelt music continues to be its draw to crowds from multi genre fans. Then in an unforeseen moment Josiah decided to step aside, which was a great blow to the band as a whole. On the cusp of a new contract and booking opportunities, it seemed the band would be held back once again. But the three remaining members agreed, this was not the ending, but a much needed new beginning! John and Dylan, both began contacting some friends in the music community about picking up a guitarist to build their new sound with. On one of those occasions, John went to a local club to support a group that he’d been friends with for quite some time and saw a young man that was deeply centered in blues and phenomenal on most other genres as well. That young man was BJ Levron. His blues style and superb harmonica playing as well as his vocal abilities were exactly what the band was looking for. Then upon the first meeting, it was clear he had the drive and determination needed for the long road ahead and was added to the new lineup. With the development of the new look and sound, also came the writing of new music. One of which is the song “Too Far Gone “ about John’s struggle to walk away from the bottle and the wake-up call that led him to the decision to walk away. The most recent accomplishment came when the group became members of the Rock Rage Radio family in early February 2026. Born on the bayou, and raised on storms, One Last stand is quickly becoming a household name.
